Harold Schechner

Harold Schechner was born 1936 in East London, a true "Cockney". He was a ladies hairdresser, until he made aliya in 1984. He worked for a medical company delivering medical supplies. His hobbies include reading, writing poetry, and volunteering at Attad and helping 12th grade pupils with their oral bagrut.

Diana Naaman describes how these words, spoken in prayer on Rosh Hashana, are given precious, real meaning to the elderly and chronically ill, by a group of dedicated volunteers. Harold Schechner's poem "ATTAD" is a touching tribute to ATTAD's work with the elderly.
