Jerry Stevenson was born and raised in Los Angeles. He came to Israel in 1966 as a volunteer on the one year Sherut La-am Program and decided to stay. From 1966 to 1969 he was a producer, writer and announcer for the English Department of Israel Radio. He then went Los Angeles to study film, and television production at UCLA where he received his MBA. On his return he became head of Television training at Israel Television training Center. After three years he opened the Mr. "T" Israel Army and Navy Surplus and T-Shirt Company, a retail, wholesale and manufacturing business which he had for over 33 years.
And along the way he was in the Jerusalem Brigade for many years and then the Educational Unit of the Israel Defense Forces.
Jerry is now retired, but very active in writing and performing with the Tel Aviv Community Theater and in Jerusalem, The Encore Educational Theater Company.
Jerry Stevenson recalls his first visit to Arbanel Street to the home of Felix Shulman, the founder and director of the Abu Gosh Music Festival. A doctor and veterinarian surgeon by profession, he also had a very solid musical background. His home was the center for his professional work as well as his musical activities.
