Mimi Tanaman

In Israel since 1966, Mimi Tanaman studied toward her BA and MA degrees in Psychology at Hebrew University of Jerusalem. While studying and raising a family, she toured the country with a bluegrass band, the Golden City String Band, which appeared in theaters, on kibbutzim, radio, and made numerous TV appearances. With the breakup of the string band, Mimi picked up her former acting career which had begun in her native New York where she toured the city with her high school theater group. She has both acted in and directed numerous productions for the Sharon Players and appeared in films and TV series. Today, Mimi runs her own copywriting and translating company, hi-Text, serving private companies and Israel's advertising sector, as well as providing translations to English of poems, novels, and children's books. If her clients leave her any free time, she's also working on a book of her own. Mimi lives in Raanana and shares her free time with her ten grandchildren.
