ESRA Modiin arranged a delightful program for the auspicious launch of Neve ESRA, the new project adopted by ESRA Modiin. The event was horoured by many dignitaries, including guest of honor Mayor Haim Bibas who spoke about ESRA’s wonderful contribution to communities throughout Israel and Modiin in particular. The artistic program included many talented performers, and Seffi Rosenberg, coordinator of Neve ESRA, expressed deep appreciation to ESRA for their support and backing.

At an evening for new immigrants arranged by the Aliyah and Klitah department of the Raanana municipality to honor organizations that help immigrants ESRA was represented by Val Kantor, ESRA co-vice-chair and volunteer coordinator, and Jennifer Bell, who accepted an award on behalf of ESRA presented by Raanana Mayor Nahum Hofri, and Val Kantor.

Saving small change makes a change. Jackie Klein tells about it in “Coining it in,” the story of a young family who dropped off four very large and heavy jars of coins - NIS 1580 – they had collected to donate to the Modiin center for children at risk.

The ESRA Rishon's Cinema Club had its first meeting on October 27, and from all accounts was a very successful occasion. Accoding to Lucille, the Anglo community in Rishon needs more cultural/social meetings and she feel this got them off to a good start.

At the 2010 Volunteer Awards Event Merle Guttmann, ESRA’s Founder and President, spoke with high respect for volunteers and their abilities and achievements. 10 outstanding volunteers received awards at the Raanana Arts Center presented by ESRA co-chairs Nina Zuck and Adele Hunter

The award-giving ceremony for the winners participating in ESRA Magazine’s third literary competition, “My Israel”, was celebrated at a festive reception, replete with wine and goodies. Carl Hoffman was there and reports.
