Following the great success of the ESRA Recipe Calendar over recent years, we are proud to announce that we are already working on our new calendar for next year, 2017 – 2018.
Full details of the different types of sponsorship available can be seen in our full-page advertisement in this magazine.
Once again it will be a 13-month calendar packed with lots of useful information such as Shabbat times, dates of the Chagim and information about school holidays - not to forget the exciting and interesting recipes appearing every month.
The calendar, as always, will be distributed free of charge to all paid-up ESRA members so we ask everyone to support us and become a sponsor is some way or another - either by simply having your name listed on the Sponsor’s Page for NIS 140 or listing your children or grandchildren for NIS 50 per name. You can also choose your own special date or give your personal greeting for NIS 250.
When deciding which option to choose, always keep in mind that all the proceeds from the advertising and sponsors of the ESRA Recipe Calendar go directly towards funding ESRA’s community projects which make such a significant difference in helping disadvantaged individuals and disadvantaged communities in Israel.
Finally, don’t forget that the ESRA Recipe Calendar makes a wonderful Rosh Hashanah gift to send to family and friends. Every year, upon request, we send out extra copies to addresses in Israel and abroad at a minimal charge, and last year we quickly sold out, meaning that we were forced to disappoint several people.

My ESRA role is bliss, says Candyce
Candyce Bliss was born and raised in Beckenham, Kent - officially South London. She married Laurence Bliss at age 20 and after six years of marriage, they made aliyah together with their two young children. Candyce took up show jumping and judging, and became the first officially registered Israeli International Judge, which took her to many countries in her capacity as a foreign judge. At the same time she was working as a personal assistant to one of Israel’s top businessmen - and was with him for 34 years, until her retirement at the end of 2016. Says Candyce: “ESRA came to my rescue when I was wondering what I was going to do in my retirement after so many years of being fully employed, and I gladly took on the role of Calendar Chairperson for the 2017-2018 calendar. My only concern is that I have the very large shoes of Susan Kurnedz to fill, which I hope, together with the team and all their support, will ease my task.”
